Bengaluru (Karnataka), September 2022: Dr. Manjunath Haridas served as Course Director of the Minimally Invasive Advanced Surgery (MIAS) Masterclass at Manipal Hospital Whitefield — an advanced surgical training programme he conceived and led for practising and upcoming surgeons.
The MIAS Masterclass was designed to go beyond standard minimally invasive surgery and teach genuinely advanced techniques through live surgery, lectures, panel discussions, a skills lab, and one-to-one troubleshooting. As Course Director, Dr. Haridas structured the programme across three major segments — biliary disease, upper GI and colorectal, and hepatobiliary and pancreas — drawing clinicians from across South India. Describing the initiative, he explained that MIAS was created to bring advanced minimally invasive surgery to a wider community of surgeons, so that, by teaching these techniques to those who are new and upcoming, more patients ultimately benefit from them.
